The
role of the School’s Governing Body is to set the School’s
policy framework, to support the Head-teacher and staff in the
management of the school, to improve the School’s financial
effectiveness, to represent the parents in the delivery of the
curriculum, to raise educational standards and to represent the
community in general in the running of the school, and much more.
|
Much
of the work of the Governing Body takes place in various committees
(finance, personnel, premises, curriculum, etc.), with the full
Governing Body meeting twice per term to discuss issues affecting
the whole school and to ratify recommendations from committees. |
The
Governing Body at Kentisbeare is made up of 4 elected parent governors,
3 foundation governors, 3 LEA governors, a teachers representative,
a non-teaching staff representative, the vicar, the head-teacher
and co-opted governor. Other than the head-teacher and the vicar,
each governor serves for 4 years at a time. |
