Governors

The role of the School’s Governing Body is:
- to set the School’s policy framework
- to support the Head-teacher and staff in the management of the school
- to improve the School’s financial effectiveness
- to represent the parents in the delivery of the curriculum
- to raise educational standards
- to represent the community in general in the running of the school
- and much more.

Much of the work of the Governing Body takes place in Committees.

The new structure is for 2 Committees:

Teaching and Learning (covering Curriculum, Inclusion, School Improvement and Community and Parent Links )

Resources (covering Finance, Personnel, Premises and Health & Safety), each meeting twice per Term.

The full Governing Body meets twice per term .

The Governing Body at Kentisbeare is made up of 4 elected parent governors, 3 foundation governors, 3 LEA governors, a teachers representative, a non-teaching staff representative, the vicar, the head-teacher and co-opted governor. Other than the head-teacher and the vicar, each governor serves for 4 years at a time.
