Cricket

For the summer term we have opened up cricket club to KS1 children as well as KS2.

This already popular club now has over 50 children who regularly attend.

In the summer term we are lucky enough to be able to use the facilities at Kentisbeare Cricket Club who kindly let us play on the outfield.

Year 6 Kwik Cricket

Our year six team travelled to Exmouth for the East Devon Kwik Cricket Tournament.

The boys played really, winning all three of their matches and scoring heavily in the process.

When the results were announced Kentisbeare finished in first place, narrowly beating Woodbury Salterton into second place.

The team now go on to represent East Devon in the county finals at Bovey Tracey.

Girls Kwik Cricket

Not to be outdone by the boys, the girls went to the East Devon Kwik Cricket and came through as winners aswell!

The team of 10 batted well but won it due to some excellent bowling and fielding.

The girls now have to interrupt their residential in order to go and play the county final at Bovey Tracey.

A great effort by all our cricketers this year.

Cricket Club

The Cricket Club runs all year, in winter at the village hall and in summer on the school playing field.

The enthusiastic leadership of the staff members running this club has rubbed off on the children and they strive for success at all times.

They are taught batting, bowling and fielding. Last year they were one of the most successful teams in the area.

But most of all the children have fun!
